Who We Are
Pekingese Rescue and Others was formed over 10 years ago when I found there was a need for someone to help the dogs at the pounds and on the streets. I have owned Pekingese since I was a child and they have always been my love. At first, I rescued any breed because I could not find any Pekingese at the pounds but after about 3 years I found Pekingese all over the state of Florida and I was getting calls all the time to come pick them up. Before long, I could mostly only take in Pekingese because I am a one person operation and all the funds mainly come from my own pocket. I choose to operate this way because I can learn every dog's temperament and personality before placing them. I keep all of my rescues for at least 3 months before they are placed. All of my dogs are crate trained and housetrained and all of the dogs live as my family pets before they go to their forever homes.
Adopting a friend
In order to adopt from Pekingese Rescue and Others, there is an application process. The first step is to complete a written application. If the application is approved, then we will conduct a home visit. Once the written application and home visit have been approved, you can take your new furry friend home!! All dogs have an adoption fee that contributes funds to keep the rescue program operating.
Come Visit Us!
All of our rescues are home with us so if you want to visit a specific pet we will make arrangements once you are an approved applicant. In order to be an approved applicant your written application and home visit must be completed and approved (no exceptions).
